YOLO?: A Christian Understanding

Image
You only live once (YOLO) is becoming big with kids these days! If you are "cool" you will know exactly what I am talking about. I hate to be that guy but not a single of the world's dominant religions believe this - Christianity not in the least bit. You will live again. This life is but the passing of a season. You will die. You will live again. This body is perishing, constantly dying, constantly getting sick, cut, bruised, beat up but you will get a body that is not perishing or fading. For I will reveal a mystery to you... this body will pass away but we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye to receive a resurrected body. After this life our bodies will sleep. What you do now has a great impact on the second. 1 Corinthians 15, St. Paul's magnum opus on the resurrect...

Early Church Father's and Outside Witness to Christians, poor, stranger and wealth!

Here are some awesome quotes about how the early church (90 ad - 500 ad) viewed and was viewed in regards to wealth and related topics. I tried to personally research these so you can be sure that they are legit. Also, I put links to biographies and original works. Hope this blesses you! “Share everything with your brother. Image
We will first look at three common wealth passages of Jesus, look at the justified interpretations, then the contextual interpretation with Scriptural and early church quote support. There are three passages that the church argues over when it comes to wealth and accumulation. Many men have justified these passages but I have seen a revelatory connection. The first passage comes from Matthew 6:19-21 & 24: "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also... No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money." There are generally two interpretations of this passage; sell everything or do not over-value w...
